Whistleblowing at Webbfabriken — what it means

Webbfabriken provides an internal reporting channel where employees, contractors, suppliers, applicants and other people in a work-related context with us can report serious irregularities. The channel implements the requirements of EU Directive 2019/1937 on the protection of persons who report breaches of Union law, transposed into Swedish law through Lag (2021:890) om skydd för personer som rapporterar om missförhållanden (the Swedish Whistleblower Act).

Reporting in good faith through this channel is protected by law. Webbfabriken does not tolerate any form of retaliation against a person who reports concerns in good faith — see the section on protection from retaliation below.

What you can report to us

You can report serious irregularities of public interest — meaning behaviour that affects more people than just yourself in a personal capacity. According to the Swedish Whistleblower Act and the EU directive this includes, but is not limited to:

  • Public procurement irregularities
  • Financial services, products and markets, money laundering and terrorist financing
  • Product safety and conformity
  • Transport safety
  • Environmental protection and climate
  • Radiation protection and nuclear safety
  • Food and feed safety, animal health and welfare
  • Public health
  • Consumer protection
  • Protection of privacy and personal data, network and information security (GDPR)
  • Corruption, bribery, fraud and serious accounting irregularities
  • Serious breaches of human rights or working conditions in our supply chain

Personal grievances, ordinary disagreements with a manager or general dissatisfaction with conditions are not covered by the Whistleblower Act and should be raised in the regular HR channel via your manager or via contact.

How to report — internal channels

Webbfabriken accepts reports through three internal channels. You choose the one that suits you best.

  1. This online form (recommended). Submit the form below — anonymously if you prefer. The form is encrypted in transit and the report goes only to a small designated reporting team.
  2. Email directly to the CEO. Send to robert@webbfabriken.com. Use this if you want a named recipient.
  3. Postal mail. Send a sealed letter marked "Whistleblowing — Confidential" to Webbfabriken AB. Postal address is on the contact page.

In accordance with Lag (2021:890), Webbfabriken shall acknowledge receipt of a report within seven (7) days of receipt and provide feedback on actions taken and planned within three (3) months of acknowledgement. If you have not provided contact details, this feedback is published as a redacted summary instead.

Anonymity and data protection

You may report anonymously. If you do, leave the name and email fields blank in the form. Anonymity may, however, limit our ability to ask follow-up questions and to provide you with feedback. Your identity, if disclosed, is treated as a confidential personal data category and accessible only to designated personnel handling the case.

All processing of personal data follows the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Lag (2021:890). Reports and related personal data are retained no longer than necessary, normally up to two (2) years after closure, after which they are securely deleted unless retention is required by another statutory obligation.

Protection from retaliation

A person who reports a concern in good faith through this channel is protected by Lag (2021:890). The Act prohibits any form of retaliation against the reporting person, including dismissal, suspension, demotion, transfer, withholding of training, denial of promotion, salary reduction, change of working hours, blacklisting and any kind of harassment or discrimination linked to the report.

Protection also extends to the person who assists a reporting person, persons connected to the reporter (such as colleagues or relatives) and legal entities owned by the reporter. If you experience retaliation, you have a right to compensation under the Act and you may also report directly to the relevant external authority listed below.

External authorities you can contact

You may always choose to report externally instead of, or in addition to, our internal channel. The Whistleblower Act gives you the right to use external reporting channels at the following Swedish authorities, depending on subject matter:

  • The Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) — data protection and GDPR breaches. imy.se
  • Swedish Police — suspected criminal offences. polisen.se
  • Swedish Work Environment Authority — work environment, health and safety irregularities. av.se
  • Swedish Competition Authority — restrictive practices, public procurement. konkurrensverket.se
  • Finansinspektionen (Swedish FSA) — financial services, money laundering, terrorist financing. fi.se
  • Swedish Environmental Protection Agency — environmental and climate breaches. naturvardsverket.se
  • Swedish Tax Agency — tax evasion, accounting fraud. skatteverket.se
  • Swedish Consumer Agency — consumer protection breaches. konsumentverket.se

In limited circumstances, public disclosure (for example to media or in a public forum) is also protected — typically when internal and external channels have failed, or when there is an imminent danger to public interest. This is regulated in detail by Lag (2021:890) chapters 2 and 3.
